Belltron designs the new sound system for the Abbey in Monte Oliveto

When Belltron heard that the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore required a new sound system, our technicians immediately went straight into action to find the correct solution to resolve the Benedictine Monk’s requirements.

Angelo and Alessandro left immediately to study the difficult acoustics inside the Abbey and to find the best solution for the church. Mr. Alessio Torre, one of Belltron’s dealers in the Tuscany region and Father Francisco (one of the monks at the Abbey) were there to welcome them on their arrival.

"When we walked in the church for the first time we were amazed by the treasure of masterpieces of art that were inside the church but at the same time we realized that the acoustics were quite difficult" says Alessandro Libetti.

"We immediately thought of installing the CA65 speakers with 24 and 12 loud speakers." The speakers were connected to other important appliances such as the digital mixer amplifier BPA 245 PROEA with incorporated equalizer, antilarsen and power amplifier and the FAL MB and MB FAMC microphones to obtain a good voice and sound quality.

Another problem which the monks had for a long time, and for which they could not find a solution, was the distortion of the sound of the organ during playing.  Using the Belltron remote control, all the microphones (except the singers microphone) are switched off when the organ starts to play and turned on again when the organ playing is finished. This procedure has managed to eliminate the over-modulation caused when the various microphones are all on. This solution was greatly appreciated by all.
